From a Mother to a Daughter

A delicate, perfect little soul

Being around you makes me whole

Your birth was like a ray of light and love travelling through me

A spiritual transformation that set my heart free

I loved giving birth to you

It was the easiest, hardest thing my mind and body has ever had to do

I feel privileged to be the vessel that held you

You are a precious piece of treasure that I long to protect

Like a delicate plant that I wish to keep perfect

I tend to you with loving hands

Nourishing you with fruits and nutrients from foreign lands

I am distraught by the slightest hinder at your body, heart or mind

Let me comfort you by being sweet and kind

I can’t bear to see you wilt

If that tare or wilt was caused by me, I am crippled with guilt

I will rush to repair you the best I can

It is the purpose of my whole lifespan

You are an image of an angel, more beautiful than I could ever be

Your hair perfectly golden, silken, and eyes bluer than me

Your skin so perfect and your body perfectly created

Your intellectual abilities have me fascinated

Your heart so pure and full of fun

I can see the sadness you had is being undone

I tried so hard, but I could not protect you from the storms of life

Turbulence erupted in your homelife

Our first years together were like a fairytale

We would feed the ducks, the horses and find mushroom trails

Ride our bicycles through bluebell forest

Follow unknown paths as they turn and twist

When we are free in nature our spirits align perfectly together

I wish we could stay here in the wild forever

Where the bare necessities are all that we need

You can play all day, I love to let you lead

I know both of us long to be wild and free

Like when we walked through the stream that lead to the sea

My precious little girl I hope we can find our hearts whole again one day

If mummy’s leg can be better, I will continue to pray

Maybe have our own little farm, with lovely animals to care for

Regular visits to the beach, sat by the shore

You and your brother are the most important thing to me

Nothing seems to dim your light

You are so pure and full of glee

The bad things in this world can not intrude

You’re light is too bright, it cant affect your mood

From the day you were born, you have only brought me happiness

Your light has taken my breath away, I am filled with thankfulness

You taught me the beauty that is within

The best times are when we dance in the kitchen

You beautiful little thing, you have been my little leader

What a pleasure its been to be your bedtime story reader

You never turn your back on me when I’m feeling down

You just smile, want me to play and fool around

I hope I can give you even a fraction of the happiness you have given me one day

I want to be the perfect mummy for you

We even play games while your having a poo

Things are looking up my sweet

These little guinea pigs we have are a treat

Their little squeaks and the way they munch

Nibbles and Speedy, the best of the bunch

They’re cute fun and crazy, just like us
