🍜 A gut friendly noodle broth recipe suitable for coeliac, IBS and IBD.

It can be pretty damn difficult to know what to eat when you are restricted by your diet. However there are ways to work with it and to still enjoy delicious food! Even if you are not restricted but want to improve your gut health this is a great recipe to have up your sleeve for a quick lunch or dinner.

Visit my blog to read more about gut health and why you might need to take care of it.

This recipe uses:

* Bone broth which is high in collagen which acts as an anti-inflammatory as well as reconstructing tissues. It can be quite difficult to find good quality broth in the supermarkets. I order mine online from @takestockfoods. Make it vegan with their vegetable broth.

* Rice noodles which are gluten free and easily digested.

* Leafy greens are anti-inflammatory and full of essential vitamins and minerals. They are also a prebiotic, feeding the good bacteria in the gut.

* Garlic and ginger are also potent anti-inflammatories as well as being a prebiotic. Although if you are following a low FODMAP diet and you are sensitive to garlic you may want to leave it out.

* Tamari is a wheat free version of soy sauce suitable for anyone with a wheat intolerance.

Visit my blog in the link in the bio for the full recipe.

Ps. Totally loving the dark food photography at the minute 😍

Nutritious chocolate oat cookies 🍪 My quickest
Nutritious chocolate oat cookies 🍪 My quickest and easiest cookie recipe is a perfect snack or treat for kids.

Slow releasing energy - made with unrefined oats and whole wheat flour for a slower, sustainable release of energy.

No refined sugar - using good quality honey for minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties

Dark chocolate - using 70% or higher cocoa chocolate makes this an excellent source of magnesium iron and zinc. Minerals essential for many functions in the body.

Make them your own - add in any seeds and nuts you like, kids often don’t mind them when they’re covered in chocolate. I like to use chia seeds and walnuts for a boost of omega 3.

Better fat - coconut oil has a helpful kind of cholesterol as opposed to butter. Coconut oil is especially useful for vegans rather than plant based butters which usually contain vegetable fats which can be inflammatory.

Head to my blog for the full recipe.

Forest times 😌 Some cold December put some hairs on our chest 🥶

I deeply appreciate the opportunity to take the time to move my body. Before I do anything else in the day I move energy through my body, expelling stagnant air in my lungs. Moving in fresh air and motivating energy.

I spent the past 2 years ignoring self care and overriding the sluggish energy with caffeine. Pushing myself to achieve everything I want to. While it was fun and I achieved a lot, my body told me it is enough and time to rebalance myself. I feel amazing, I feel like myself. I have natural motivation, energy and vitality. I don’t need caffeine to force it. I feel this natural energy is recyclable, as appose to stimulants which is like getting in energy debt and will come at a cost to health.

We’re always focusing on achieving everything we need to get done in a day. But we humans need a balance between our will and our desire, otherwise we will either get nothing done or lose our love for life. When we achieve this balance we are in our true power. #liveslow

✅ Health and happiness is more than just being s
✅ Health and happiness is more than just being slim and eating healthy. You could have a great diet however if your thoughts are not in the right place you could still get sick. You could exercise every day but if you are sleep deprived you are going to feel drained and find it hard to make good food choices.

⚖️ Life really is about balance. These aspects all depend on being in balance with each other to be functioning optimally. Sleep, movement, diet and emotions all affect appetite, hormones, neurotransmitters, gut bacteria and more.

🧬 Our bodies are constantly trying to reach equilibrium to maintain the best conditions. When our body is under stress and can’t reach that balance and has to adapt, it finds its self in dis-ease. Paying a little attention to each of these 4 important pillars will help to support our bodies in what it works so hard to do for us.
